H&M’s Mission to Make Fashion Circular

H&M’s mission: To lead the change towards a circular and renewable fashion industry while being a fair and equal company.

H&M Group is a core partner of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s make fashion circular initiative, a leading circular fashion initiative driving innovation in the textile industry.

H&M has been offering a garment recycling service across all stores since 2013. If you hand in your bag of old clothes you receive a £5 voucher to spend on your next purchase.

All clothes collected are either reused, re-worn or recycled, nothing goes to landfill.

Clothes are an everyday necessity. But, it is estimated that if nothing changes by 2050, the fashion industry will use up a quarter of the world’s carbon budget!
